Flag Nationals Tournament 2026: Official Spotlight

One year after representing Team New Brunswick at the 2025 Elite Flag Nationals Tournament, long-time Team New Brunswick player Aiden Tobin is trading in his mouthguard for a whistle.

“I know that I won’t be able to play forever so being able to officiate is a perfect way to stay involved with the game.”

Despite qualifying to compete at the U19 level in the 2026 Flag Nationals, Aiden Tobin’s desire to stay involved in the sport has inspired the start of a new career on a different side of the field.

A senior at Saint John High School, Tobin has represented Team New Brunswick in both tackle and flag football for the last four years of his nine-year football career.

Having previously participated in the tournament as a player in the U18 division, Tobin believes that his familiarity with the game’s speed, plays, and details used by teams will allow him to know what to look for in plays as an official.

“I’m super excited to return and have the ability to see such a high level of competition from a different perspective. I’m also excited to learn from other high level experienced officials at the tournament.”
