After three relentless days, the 2026 Flag Nationals Tournament has come to a close. As Team New Brunswick prepares to leave Kingston, Ontario, they head home carrying honour, pride, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Seven teams represented New Brunswick this year at the Flag Nationals Tournament, earning seven overall wins. At the 2025 competition, New Brunswick travelled with only two teams and earned zero wins. The growth of the program was especially evident in the performances of two squads who made their debut this weekend: the U14 and U19 Men’s teams.
The U14M finished fourth in their division, sparking loud celebrations at Richard Memorial Stadium when the final whistle blew. For the program, the result was more than just a strong placement, it was one that proved everybody wrong.
“We were supposed to finish last,” said U14 player Axl Donovan on the teams fourth place finish. “We’re big-time underdogs, and it’s a pretty good feeling.”
Following suit, the U19 Men finished fifth in their division. Player Khael Perry expressed how impressed he was with both the results for such a small province, and the growth the province has made.
“it’s just great to see us grow, and just again, like how much better we’re doing. Like last year as a province, we didn’t have a single win. This year multiple teams had a win. We are growing our girls flag program, our guy’s flag program, and it’s just great to see that we’re in an upward trajectory.”
The other five teams representing New Brunswick finished as follows:
U16F – 8th
U18F – 8th
U19F – 7th
U16M – 6th
U18M – 7th
