Football New Brunswick Announces Cameron Davidson as Head Coach of U18 Provincial Tackle Program
MONCTON, NB | January 16, 2026 – Football New Brunswick (FNB) is proud to announce the appointment of Cameron Davidson as the new Head Coach of the U18 Provincial Tackle Team. This transition follows previous Head Coach Zak Colangelo’s decision to step down from the program. We thank Zak for his years of commitment and growth to our program and wish him success in the future.
A decorated former player and an elite-level coach with a proven track record of championship success, Davidson brings a wealth of experience and knowledge from both the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) and Ontario University Athletics (OUA) conferences. Additionally Davidson has a Masters degree in Sport Psychology which will only enhance our high performance programs.
A Wolfville, Nova Scotia native, Davidson’s football journey is marked by excellence on and off the field. As a standout player for Acadia University, he helped lead the Axemen to an AUS Championship in 2017, earning the Loney Bowl MVP for his performance. His leadership extended beyond the scoreboard, as evidenced by his 2018 AUS Community Service Award and his nomination for the prestigious Russ Jackson Award, recognizing his commitment to academics, athletics, and community.
Transitioning into coaching, Davidson immediately found success at the high school level, serving as the Offensive and Special Teams Coordinator for the 2019 D2 Nova Scotia Provincial Champion Horton High School.
Most recently, Davidson spent five seasons (2020–2025) with Queen’s University as the Running Backs and Mental Performance Coach. During his tenure in Kingston, he established himself as one of the premier positional coaches in the country, developing four All-Canadian Running Backs in just five seasons. His time at Queen’s culminated in a 2025 Yates Cup Championship, further solidifying his reputation as a coach who delivers at the highest level of Canadian university football. In 2026, he joined Mount Allison University as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator.
Davidson will lead a New Brunswick team that ranked 5th (2024) and 6th (2025) at the Canada Cup.
“I’m tremendously excited to take on this opportunity,” said Cameron Davidson. “Football New Brunswick has a rich and proud history of developing strong football athletes and playing high-level football. I’m honoured to represent the great province of New Brunswick and excited to get to work.”
Kelly Jeffrey, FNB’s Director of Coach and Official Development, looks forward to seeing Cam’s impact on the provincial program: “We’re thrilled to welcome Cam Davidson as the new Head Coach of our Under 18 team. Cam’s energy, football IQ, and positive leadership style make him a great fit for our program, and we’re excited for the impact he’ll have on our athletes.”
