OUR LINEUP

Scott Woloshin began his flag football officiating career in 2010 and has since officiated numerous Canadian youth and senior national championships, as well as two IFAF tournaments in Panama (2018, 2025). For over four years, he has served as the Manager of Officiating Development, where he helps design the national pathways and curriculum for officials. Most recently, Scott was appointed to the IFAF rules committee, where he plays a key role in shaping the global standards of the sport as it prepares for the Olympic stage.

Al Gates is a Level 4 Official & NBFOA Trainer with a career highlighted by two Vanier Cup assignments (2003, 2022) and ten USPORTS national semi-finals, Al is one of New Brunswick’s most experienced football officials. A member of the Football Canada Tackle Rules Committee and a dedicated NBFOA Trainer, Al balances his elite-level officiating with a passion for grassroots development. Whether refereeing provincial championships or mentoring new officials at weekly development meetings, Al is motivated by the camaraderie and the opportunity to give back to the sport. He resides in Hampton with his wife, Barb.

Eric LeBlanc is an elite football official with 15 years of experience spanning minor, high school, university, and professional levels. A standout representative for Atlantic Canada, Eric’s career is highlighted by his selection for the 2021 and 2023 USports Mitchell Bowls and the 2025 Uteck Bowl. He also made provincial history as the Referee for the first all-French crew in New Brunswick during the 2023 Acadie Bowl. Eric’s leadership extends beyond the field, having served four years as Executive VP of the NBFOA and acting as Referee-in-Chief for the 2023 Eastern Challenge Cup—contributions that earned him the 2023 Football New Brunswick Official of the Year award. His proudest milestone remains his work in the CFL, where he is currently officiating his third season as the first NBFOA official to reach the professional ranks.

Chris Wall has had a lifelong passion for football, which transitioned from the field as a player to a distinguished career as an official. After competing at the U16, high school, and men’s league levels, Chris turned to officiating as a way to stay deeply involved in the sport. Through rigorous study and preparation, he has risen through the ranks from minor football to the AUS (Atlantic University Sport) level, officiating games across Calgary, Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes. Beyond his work on the field, Chris is a dedicated leader in the officiating community; after serving as a long-time executive member, he was named President of the New Brunswick Football Officials Association (NBFOA) in 2025. He remains a strong advocate for the sport, believing that the discipline of officiating provides as much to the individual as it does to the game itself.
