We are excited to work with our Atlantic Provinces to compete in the U18 Women’s Nationals, this program will offer an unparalleled opportunity to compete at the national level!

Yearly, our U18 Women’s team battles against the top talent from across the country. This is your chance to step onto the national stage and showcase your skill!

Selection Process Update
This year, we’re making an exciting change to our team selection. Our goal is to choose the team earlier than ever before!

This change gives you and your family more time to prepare for the elite competition and provides extra opportunities for fundraising and planning before we head to nationals!

Mark Your Calendar: The U18 National Championship is set for July 21–29, 2026 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Evaluation Camps
We’re holding multiple evaluation camps to assess talent and development.

  • Evaluation Camp #1 – Saturday, Jan 10, Moncton, Maplehurst Middle School 12-3pm
  • Evaluation Camp #2 – Saturday, Jan 17, Saint John, Irving Oil Field House: 1:30-3:30pm
  • Evaluation Camp #3 – TBD


Following the 3 evaluation camps the final team and reserves will be selected!

Team Winter Camps
Athletes will be given access to a strength and conditioning program to follow at home. The strength and conditioning plan will be monitored by a trained strength and conditioning coach.

Additionally the team will participate in the following on field sessions:

Team Camp #1 – Saturday, Feb 21, Moncton, Maplehurst Middle School: 11-3pm

Team Camp #2 – Saturday, Mar 14, Saint John, UNBSJ Gym: 1-4pm

Team Spring and Summer Camps

The schedule is not finalized, but practices will occur throughout April, May, June and July. The team will also participate in overnight camps leading up to Nationals

Train with the Best
As an athlete in this pathway, you will train and develop under highly experienced coaches from diverse programs across New Brunswick and PEI, including high school, Varsity Girls, and the Maritime Women’s Football League. This is a unique chance to elevate your game with expert guidance!

Each athlete will be given every opportunity to try out at the position of their choice, BUT signing up for a certain position does not guarantee that the athlete will play that position. Each High Performance Coaching Staff reserves the right to move players to different positions based on team needs for team success.

It is important to note that equal playing time is not guaranteed in High Performance programming.

Program Details

Equipment

All camps will require gear including mouth guards. Players are to reach out to their minor associations to use football equipment or make their own arrangements with high schools. Players will be provided with a practice jersey at the first camp.

PRovincial Team Fee Breakdown

The U18 program is structured to accommodate both parents and players by taking into consideration other sport schedules, registration costs and deadlines.

Evaluation Camps – $275 + applicable transaction fees (Due upon registering, payments plans available at checkout)
Fee includes: 3 evaluation camps, t-shirt, shorts and Football NB practice jersey.

Team Phase – $3000 (Due July 5th)
Fee includes: Team NB clothing package, team bag, all camps from January to July and participation in the Football Canada U18 Women’s Nationals in Regina, SK. (players accommodations and meals are included in the fee)

Fundraising Opportunity
We are adding more fundraisers this year to help cover the financial costs of the program. Early team selection will allow more time for team organized fundraiser campaigns. More details will be released at a later date.
No final payments will be due until the fundraisers are complete on July 5th. Families will have 6 months of fundraising and planning before any payments are made.

Payment Plans

We believe that it’s important for all interested players to have the ability to compete. Therefore, payment plans can be arranged.
These can be selected at the registration checkout. We offer a payment plan to help cover the initial tryout and can provide payment plans past the final fee payment of July 5th.

Please contact Josh Harris at josh.harris@footballnb.ca to make arrangements. To also help alleviate some of the costs to this great opportunity you are encouraged to take advantage of every fundraiser provided.

Combine

The team will hold a Combine in the Spring. This will involve several standardized tests that have been established by Football Canada. The U18 Coaching staff will use these results as an evaluation tool and the results will be shared on our website.
The Combine Tests include the following:

  • Height and Weight Measurements
  • Standing Broad Jump – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best distance.
  • Vertical Jump – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best height.
  • Standing Reach
  • 40 Yard Dash – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best time.
  • Pro Agility Drill – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best time.
  • Bench Press – Options of 135 lbs, 95lbs or Max Push Up. Athletes will be given 2 attempt to get as many reps as possible. They will be given a brief period to warm up. Weight is scored higher then the number of reps achieved.
