There is no better opportunity to develop your skills to prepare for the next level, then Football New Brunswick’s Provincial Program.

Our program stands alone, utilizing a professional training camp model where athletes are evaluated on both technical skill and personal character. You will train under an elite staff of highly experienced coaches, primarily with USports, Team New Brunswick and high school experience, ensuring you receive the highest quality instruction at the U16 level.

Each athlete will be given every opportunity to try out at the position of their choice, BUT signing up for a certain position does not guarantee that the athlete will play that position. Football New Brunswick and each High Performance Coaching Staff reserves the right to move players to different positions based on team needs for team success.

It is important to note that equal playing time is not guaranteed in High Performance programming.

Program Details

Equipment

All camps except the combine will require gear including mouth guards. Players are to reach out to their minor associations to receive football equipment or make their own arrangements with high schools. Players will be provided with a practice jersey at the first camp.

  • a player from the Greater Moncton area can either receive gear from their high school or pay $150 rental fee at checkout.
  • a player from the Capital Area can either supply their own gear, get gear from their high school or pay a CAMFA rental fee of $150 at our registration checkout.
  • a player from the Saint John and surrounding area can either obtain equipment from their high school or pay a $200 rental fee at our checkout

The U16 program is structured in phases, with pricing reflective of the specific training and resources provided at each stage. Each phase serves as a progressive development milestone, offering increased levels of competition as athletes advance.

Football New Brunswick is committed to ensuring every player has the opportunity to earn their roster spot. To keep our programs accessible, we offer phase-specific fundraising opportunities that directly offset your costs. Flexible payment plans are also available for each stage of the process.

EASTERN CHALLENGE PATHWAY AND FEE OVERVIEW

  • Combine & Training Camp – Apr 10-19 – $215 + FNB and Football Canada Annual Tackle Membership Fees
  • Showcase Phase (Top 80) – Apr 25-May 24 – $300
  • Maritime Challenge Phase – May 30 – June 21 – $500
  • Eastern Challenge Phase (includes pre event practice) – June 22 – July 6 – $1875

ATLANTIC BOWL PATHWAY AND FEE OVERVIEW

EASTERN CHALLENGE program Breakdown

Combine and Training Camp – $215 + Annual FNB and Football Canada Tackle Memberships = $275 applicable transaction fees apply (Due upon registering)
Fee includes: Combine, 12 hours of on field instruction, classroom/online instruction, combine t-shirt, shorts and Football NB practice jersey.

Showcase Phase – $300 + applicable transaction fees (Due Apr 24)
Fee includes: minimum 20 hours of on field instruction, classroom/online sessions and participation in the Showcase Series (Intersquad).


The Showcase Series is an intersquad game versus Team White and Team Maroon. Teams will be selected to create a competitive selection phase for the coaches to evaluate players. Games will be played on May 24.
NEW The Showcase Series phase has been extended to be twice as long as in the past. This will allow coaches a longer look at the top 80 group to evaluate before making the final selections.

Maritime Challenge Phase – $500 (Due by May 24)
Fee includes: $400 valued Team NB clothing package, minimum 18 hours of on field instruction, classroom/online sessions and participation in 2 Maritime Challenge games vs Nova Scotia on June 7 (MTA) and 21 (Acadia).

Eastern Challenge Phase – $1875 (Due July 4)
Fee includes: remaining practices in New Brunswick, classroom/online sessions, recruitment exposure and participation at the Eastern Challenge. (players travel, accommodations and meals for 5 days in Sherbrooke are included)

Atlantic Bowl program Breakdown

Atlantic Bowl Tryout Phase$215 + Annual FNB and Football Canada Tackle Memberships = $275 (Due May 27)
Fee Includes: 12 hours of on field instruction and classroom sessions.
Note: players from the 12 a side phase who do not make it to the Eastern Challenge roster may be added to the roster.

Atlantic Bowl Team Phase – $1975 (Due July 4)
Fee includes: $400 valued Team NB clothing package, remaining practices before Atlantic Bowl, classroom/online sessions and participation in the Atlantic Bowl in Fredericton, NB. (players accommodations and meals for 5 days at UNB are included in the fee)

Fundraising

Fundraisers are available through multiple phases of the program. The fundraisers take into account the following:

  • Strategic Scheduling: Fundraisers are spaced out to ensure athletes and families can provide the focus needed for optimal results.
  • Geographically Mindful: Each event is designed with our
    provincial program’s geographical constraints in mind.
  • Individual Tracking: We track all funds raised by each
    participant, ensuring you receive direct credit for your efforts.

Payment Plans

Football NB believes that it’s important for all interested players to have the ability to compete. Therefore, payment plans can be arranged.
These can be leveraged at the registration checkout. We offer a payment plan to help cover the initial tryout and for future phases.

Please contact Josh Harris to make arrangements. To also help alleviate some of the costs to this great opportunity you are encouraged to take advantage of every fundraiser provided.

THE COMBINE

Athletes will participate in standardized Football Canada testing protocols. These results allow our U16 coaching staff to objectively evaluate talent and track progress. All scores and updated records will be shared publicly on our website following the event.

The Combine Tests include the following:

  • Height and Weight Measurements
  • Standing Broad Jump – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best distance.
  • Vertical Jump – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best height.
  • Standing Reach
  • 40 Yard Dash – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best time.
  • Pro Agility Drill – athletes are given 2 attempts to achieve their best time.
  • Bench Press – Options of 225 lbs, 185 lbs, 135 lbs, or 95lbs. Athletes will be given 2 attempt to get as many reps as possible. They will be given a brief period to warm up. Weight is scored higher then the number of reps achieved.
